Safer Communities Fund Grants – open for applications

The West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Safer Communities Fund is open for a new round of grant applications.

The grants are provided using money seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act within West Yorkshire. Local organisations and groups can apply for up to £5,000. Around £130,000 has been made available for this round of grants.

Grants are awarded in line with the priorities set out in the Police and Crime plan:

  • Crime and re-offending is reduced
  • Anti-social behaviour is reduced
  • Victims and witnesses are supported
  • Local, regional and national threats, risks and harms are tackled
  • Criminal justice system is effective and efficient

So far, over £1.2million has been given to 274 groups across West Yorkshire, and a recent review has shown that every council ward in the county has been impacted by the Safer Communities Fund!
