People Matters awarded People’s Health Trust funding

Tenfold member People Matters has received funding of nearly £50,000 from People’s Health Trust, using money raised by HealthAmaze through The Health Lottery.

From January 2015 People Matters will be providing sessions including art therapy and other activities three times a week for adults and young people with disabilities who may be particularly vulnerable and isolated across Leeds.

Members of the group will work together to lead their own drop in sessions, exploring a range of activities and subjects chosen by them, which include: art, dance and sport, crafts, art therapy, current affairs, fundraising, drama, personal safety and awareness.

Chief Executive Tina Turnbull, said:

“This investment will help us expand our work in the community with some of the most vulnerable people in Holbeck. Many people have never done art or performance so this project will give them a creative outlet that builds confidence and independence”.

Spaces are available at the project. People can refer themselves or alternatively referrals can come from friends, family health and social care professionals.
