Invitation to Trinity Talks with Dame Louise Casey DBE CB

As part of celebrations for Leeds Trinity University’s 50th Anniversary year, we are presenting Trinity Talks; a series of high profile lectures from successful alumni and associates of the University.

A Life in Public Service

On Wednesday 23 November, we are privileged to welcome Dame Louise Casey DBE CB with her Trinity Talk, “A Life in Public Service”, that will reflect on her career in public service within national government, spanning nearly 20 years.

As a British government official working in social care, she will explore her work with social policy including homelessness, anti-social behaviour and troubled families.

The talk begins at 7.00pm, with refreshments and networking from 6.00pm.

Power to the Periphery

On Thursday 24 November, we are also delighted to welcome Ruth Ibegbuna; founder and CEO of RECLAIM – an award-winning leadership project that supports young people across Manchester from areas of social instability.

Named as Manchester Peace Activist of the Year 2008 and having received Women’s Award for Outstanding Contribution 2009, Ruth is an inspirational leader. In her lecture, she will talk about her belief that disenfranchised, marginalised youth can be encouraged to develop their own leadership skills for the benefit of their families, peer groups, communities and in the wider political landscape.

The talk begins at 5.00pm, with refreshments and networking afterwards.

Both engaging and inspiring speakers, Dame Louise and Ruth’s talks will be of interest to anyone involved with children, young people and families, social policy, communities, politics and government. Please feel free to circulate this invitation among your colleagues, partners and anyone you think might also be interested in attending.

Both events are free to attend, but please book your place through our website at
