Green for Go

Groundwork Leeds is running a new project called Green for Go.

When and where
Sessions take place every Tuesday at two locations:

Lady Pit Lane Allotments, Beeston Hill, LS11 6ES

and

Osmondthorpe Lane Allotments, LS9 9EF

You can join Go for Green at anytime up to the end of April 2014 and it’s all completely free.

Activities
The Green for Go programme is very flexible and provides opportunities to get involved with activities like:

  • Food growing and caring for allotments
  • Outdoor cooking and healthy eating
  • Basic horticulture and gardening activities
  • Maintenance and handling gardening tools
  • Understanding and making the most of local green spaces

You can also suggest and work on your own projects.

What is Green for Go
Green for Go has been set up for adults (19+) who are unemployed and living in Leeds, and welcomes anyone with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health difficulties.

If you enjoy practical tasks, want to make new friends, need some time and space to do something for yourself, or would like to make a difference in your local community, Green for Go could be just the thing for you.

Join Green for Go and you could find yourself planting up an allotment, building a bird box, or taking part in a community tidy up. Don’t worry if you’ve not so much as picked up a spade before, the friendly Green for Go staff will teach you everything you need to know.
