Event grants for International Day of Older People

International Day of Older People (IDOP) is on 1 October. The occasion is celebrated annually in Leeds, focusing on a different theme each year, the theme for IDOP 2015 is Health & Well Being.

Leeds Older People’s Forum (LOPF) invites organisations to apply for grants of up to £200 to host events between 1–10 October 2015.

Interested organisations should apply through Leeds Older People’s Forum and are encouraged to apply with a view  to expanding their health & well being offer to include older people. All the details for how to apply are in the application pack (.docx).

The application deadline is: Friday 14 August, 5pm. There is a limited budget so it will not be possible to fund all applications. Last year LOPF funded 26 organisations and the events were attended by over 1,000 older people.

Queries and completed applications should be sent to: or post: Sean Tunnicliffe, Leeds Older People’s Forum, D17 Joseph’s Well, Hanover Walk, Leeds, LS3 1AB.

IDOP 2015 in Leeds
It is hoped that IDOP 2015 will have a central presence in Millennium square in collaboration with Sporting Memories and the Rugby World Cup, with the opportunity to place positive images on the big screen. If you have any positive images which you are able to provide please email them to Sean at LOPF (please make sure the subjects have given approval for the images to be used).
